Thanks for your interest in the michellepatterns.com affiliate program. If you have a blog or other online following where you can post a coded affiliate link, you can earn commissions on any sales that originate with you!
IMPORTANT: If you were an affiliate with me during my prior program and want to use the same affiliate ID and/or email to sign up, you'll need to contact me. I'll need to make an administrative change for your ID in order for you to sign up for this program. Email your affiliate ID # to me at my first name at michellepatterns.com.
Commission Percentages
The program applies to sales at michellepatterns.com and currently pays the following commissions:
- 20% for any michellepatterns.com pattern retailing for $5 or more
- 10% for any michellepatterns.com pattern retailing for less than $5
- 5% for hardware, fabric, interfacing and any other sewing notions
- 5% for patterns from other designers
As long as you are making sales to people besides yourself, your personal purchases are included in the affiliate commissions. If you don't have any sales to other people during the month, commissions on your personal purchases do not qualify and you won't receive payment for them. "Other people" is defined as customers with a different name and email than the registered affiliate.
Receiving Commissions
Commission is paid monthly to affiliates with $10 or more in commission earnings. If your commissions are less than $10, your commission will carry forward to the next month and you'll receive a payment for the month where your commission total reaches the $10 threshold.
Payments are sent by the last day of the following month. For example, commissions earned in December will be paid on, or before, January 31st.
Payment is sent by PayPal Mass Payments so you will not incur PayPal charges to receive your commission payment. You must have a PayPal account in order to be paid.
Commissions are subject to periodic review. Affiliate partners will be notified 30-days in advance of any changes.
Who Can Be an Affiliate
You need to have a blog to be an affiliate. Technical support is not provided, so you need to be able to post text, photos and links to your own blog.
Blogs where I have paid for an advertisement are NOT eligible to be affiliates.
The affiliate program is best suited for blogs with these qualities:
- Most Important: Willing to periodically write a brief blog post mentioning the patterns or share something made with a pattern. You'll need to mention specific patterns from time to time in order to make sales. Past history shows side bar ads alone do not generally result in sales.
- Post on a regular basis (2+ times per week).
- Well established (1+ year) with a steady stream of traffic.
- Sewing, crafting, DIY focus.
Announcements
As an affiliate you might receive an email now and then with sales info and announcements. By signing up for the affiliate program you are opting in to these messages. These announcements are meant to help you make sales. Please consider at least a brief mention of the information to your followers.
Ads
There are some ads are below. If you need another size let me know. I can resize them to fit the width of your blog column, but they will still be square. Place them in a section of your blog where it is obvious it is sponsor button.

Joining the Affiliate Program
To join, click the link below and register. You need to register in order to get your links with the tracking codes and be able to access your sales reports.

Once you are registered and have put up the coded ad on your blog (and tested it to make sure it clicks through), please send me an email with your blog address. I will visit your ad, click through and make a test order. Once I've made the test order, my order will show up in your sales report.
