Well look what we have here...a new pattern! The surprise is it isn't one of mine, and comes from LBG Studio.
I've been doing this for a while now and have written something like 40 patterns. I'm not exactly burned out, but the motivatation to write a new pattern is somewhat elusive lately. But I want to keep bringing you fresh and fun sewing projects. So it is time to partner up with some other designers whose work I admire and think you will also appreciate.

So let me tell you about this pattern...
First off, the pouch is very easy and fast to make. While the instructions are for using leather patches at the corners, you can do like I did and use fabric (more about this in a minute) instead. This is the clutch I made using quilting cottons:
The finished pouch is stylish, modern and a popular style.
The text is written in an easy to read, conversational style. There are tips for making it perfect and some info about substitutions and where to find supplies.
Vanessa is also a wonderful photographer--she's teaching a photography class at Sewing Summit this fall--so this pattern has lovely, clear photos.
If you don't have leather, or just prefer not to use it, you can make the corner accent pieces with fabric. Here is what I did for my pouch:
- Added a 1/4" allowance to the curved edge of the corner accent pattern piece.
- Cut out 8 pieces from my accent fabric.
- Paired the pieces up into 4 sets and them sewed each set together along the curved edge.
- Notched the curves.
- Turned the pieces right side out and pressed them well.
I didn't interface the corner accent pieces, but you certainly can. They are fine without it, but next time I will try interfacing them. This time I just got excited to sew and forgot to add fusible interfacing to those pieces.
