These are really fun to make! Of course, I say that about everything I make. But they really were fun and something I hadn't made before.
These were pieced directly onto the batting. I had a quilted pillow sham in my random fabric bin, so I used that as the batting. I just cut the pieces out free hand and sewed one on top of the other, going around the center square until the batting was covered. Since I wasn't being all fussy and perfect, they went together really fast.
There are four total, so tonight I'm sitting down to finish binding the other three.
I will probably have a few scrap bags soon. In the meantime, there are scrappy magnets available.
