Jeannie

I'm going to have to try that at some point. You do it so perfect!

Lynne Tilley

That is so awesome. Thanks for the specific tips!

Kim B.

Fascinating -- who knew! Thanks for sharing, the visual is so dramatic.

gorgeous! did you have to buy online? if so where???

Michelle (michellepatterns.com)

Hi Susan: I buy it at Montavilla Sewing, but I don't think they sell online. You can search for "Jeans Stitch thread" to find places online.

It really is dramatic! I have been using it, but hadn't compared the difference until I took this picture and was surprised too.

Thanks, Jeannie! I'm sure your stitches will be just as nice. Your sewing is always lovely too. :0]

My pleasure, Lynne!

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to look for the colored jeans thread next time I'm at the fabric store. I've never seen it, but I've also never looked for it. I've only seen gold.

i did some topstitching recently with Guttermann jeans thread. I tried the topstitching needle, but found the denim needle worked better. WHen you do your test patch, also test going over seams/several layers of fabric. This is where I was let down by the topstitching needle, and the denim one fared better.

I have been sewing/quilting a long time. This was a great comparison. I would not have used a 16 needles so that was new info. Thanks.
