Raspberry Corduroy Medium Grocery Bag

Making a Grocery Bag in corduroy has been on my to sew list for some time, so today I got it done. Corduroy has a special place in my sewing heart. It is just so velvety soft.
Being a close relative of velvet, it can be a bit challenging to sew. It really can creep while you are sewing! I had to do a bit of trimming after stitching the exterior to straighten up the top before attaching the lining.
One thing I did for this bag was to reverse the nap direction on each side of the bag. The fabric shade looks different depending on which way the nap is going, and I realized the handles would appear different on one side of the bag once they curved over the top.
Taking just a moment to make sure the nap on the handles matched each side of the bag helped it turn out perfect. The shading difference probably wouldn't have been noticable, but I felt like indulging in some sewing perfectionism.
The inside is cotton lawn from the Darling Clementine collection from Timeless Treasures.
Those flirty boys at the grocery store are going to love this super soft bag. The guys tease me about my bags and the ladies always want to know if I made them. Either way, a cute grocery bag always makes shopping more fun!
