A very brief break from the city, a respite from the heat, and sort of achieving my goal of sewing some every day, has buoyed my spirits! Not that I was feeling down, but my mood today is definitely above my usual baseline.
So here is a quick recap of the things I made this week.
1) A large Grocery Bag (fabric: Vera's Garden from Robert Kaufman):
2) The pretty pink clutch shown at the top (fabric: unknown). Here is the inside:
I'm going to have pattern pieces for this clutch available soon. The shape is similar to the Curvy Clutch, but bigger and deeper, the interior pocket is different, and the flap is slightly different shape. The construction is the same as the Curvy Clutch, so I won't be writing new instructions.
I LOVE using these sew-in magnetic snaps:
They are slightly more challenging to install than the regular ones, but they are just awesome. It is easier to open the bag, and the sew-in ones don't pull and stress the fabric like regular magnetic snaps. I need more of these ASAP!
3) This large Pleated Pouch [blog post]:
3) Also this large Pleated Pouch with some modifications [blog post]:
