A few times in my life I've had acupuncture, and while I'm not certain it works for the things an acupuncturist will tell you it does, I find it does do *something* to me. Mostly, it puts me into a really relaxed and lovely state. I feel stunned by it in a pleasant way, and most of the needles don't hurt any worse than being pricked by a sewing pin.
I'm also slightly amused by the symbolic idea of being a human pincushion. It is like you are pinned in place for a small amount of time, and can feel free to just relax for bit.
So a few weeks ago I had an acupuncture appointment and since it was a beautiful day, I put on my hat and set off to walk to my appointment. About halfway there a little boy and his mom are walking past, when the boy stops and asks if I want a drawing. He is carrying a cereal box full of colored construction paper.
Of course I want one! He pulls out a green one and hands it to me. I express my delight, thank him for the gift, and off we all go. I didn't want to crease it by putting it in my bag, so I carried it the rest of the way. When I got my appointment, the acupunturist declared these must by my spirit guides! Hehehe.
Now they hang on my fridge and I get a nice giggle out of them when I open the door. They are sweet, aren't they? Who are these guides and where are we going?
