Yesterday I finally got around to making a grocery bag using this adorable "Strawberry" fabric designed by Hoodie for Timeless Treasures:
It turned out really nice and my favorite cashier at the grocery store was delighted by it too. Cute, cute, cute all the way around.
I've made this bag a bunch of times, and combined with many hours writing/editing the pattern, the instructions are pretty much burned into my memory. But since I didn't need to read the pattern, I forgot about checking the print test square, and the handle pattern piece printed slightly smaller than intended! It isn't a big deal, but it would be just a touch nicer if the handles were longer.
This was the first time I've used the exterior fabric for the handles, and it made me realize this directional print would be upside down on one side of the bag. I caught it in time to make sure the print on both handles was facing the same direction on each side of the finished bag. In the photo at the top you can see how the strawberries are upside down, and here the strawberry print right side up:
Again, not a big deal, but something to be aware of when making this bag.
