It is wonderful to see some popular fabric collections from the recent past coming back to stores!
Here is Denyse Schmidt's Posie print from her popular Flea Market Fancy collection. These prints have been on the hard to find list for what feels like a long, long time. I still have a fat quarterish size piece of Posie in turquoise, but I'm really feeling it for the brown this time.
Sew, Mama, Sew! sent an interesting email about how the life span of a fabric collection has changed over the last few years. I'm not sure where to find this info on their site, so here is what the email said:
"The fabric industry has changed dramatically in the seven years we've been in business. At one point, modern fabric collections were few and far between. When a good one came into the shop we'd reorder it again and again and the manufacturers would continue to print it. For better or worse, a collection has a much shorter life span now. There are many wonderful groups but our demand for the next great print has changed the way the manufacturers and the designers work. The difficult thing about this kind of rapid-pace change is that sometimes it takes awhile for us to really get a feel for a group. It isn't until we see the prints at work in someone else's quilt or dress or handbag that we catch the bug. By then it might be too late.
Today we're excited to announce the return of some of our very favorite fabric collections. Most of these are close-outs, so this is truly your last chance to get these prints before they're gone for good (or at least until they're re-released, but that's another story!) They're all available at a great price."
