Last night I finished the clutch mentioned in this post.
This brocade fabric was tricky! At one point I tried ever so gently to press the seams open using low heat and a press cloth, and ended up ruining two of the top pieces. Oh dear.
But I got it done and it looks smashing! It might need a fancy button, but that will have to wait for another day (and another trip to the fabric store).
This is the medium size Pleated Wristlet, but without the wristlet strap. This fabric was too difficult to fold into a strap, so I left it off. Since it is an evening bag a simple clutch is probably best anyway. Wristlets seem more casual to me.
It also ended up about 1" smaller all around because I had to do quite a bit of trimming with this fabric. In general, this pattern requires more trimming than my other patterns. Between cutting, interfacing, quilting, adding a zipper, and matching seams there will probably be some trimming here and there.
It isn't easy to see, but the lining is quilted in gold metallic thread. I used raw silk for the lining.
