Today on Science Friday the topic was why should our government give the Big 3 car companies 25 BILLION DOLLARS when there are several smaller companies that have been creating fuel efficient cars and perhaps would make much better use of the funds. Sadly our American car companies have only pursued increased fuel efficiency when forced to via regulations, so perhaps they don't deserve the insanely expensive olive branch.
Personally I've always bought small Japanese cars because I'd much rather spend my $$ on things besides gas. Besides small cars are just so much cuter....
