This weekend I broke out the KitchenAid mixer and made oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. It was the first time I'd baked anything in at least a year and when it came time to take the cookies out of the oven I realized I did not have an oven mitt or anything remotely resembling one. A kitchen towel made a fine temporary fix and then I sat down and made an oven mitt. It didn't come out very well though! So then I made this thing:
You just slip your thumb on one side and the other fingers in the other side and it makes a nice gripper. Here's the back:
This fabric arrived last week from purlsoho and is very charming. I did think the squares would be larger and had plans to use it to make a super simple blanket with faux quilting, but the squares are too small for that project.
I also made a Half Moon Bag and it came out really sweet:
This was my first try with this new shape and it came out just fine. It does NOT have a pocket though so I'm selling it as a proto-type. If you are interested it is listed in my shop right here.
It measures 10.5" across the bottom x about 5" high x 2" deep. The strap is 17". It is lightly padded to keep the shape.
