New Pattern - Lots of Pockets Tote

Main Image JPG

I've had many requests for this pattern but just thinking about making the pattern pieces caused my mind to shut down. It has seven pages of pattern pieces. Most of my patterns have only 2-3 pages of pattern pieces. The pattern pages require quite a bit of detail work to make them look nice but I'm getting so much faster at it that it really went smoothly.

Here are the details:

Make yourself a new bag with plenty of pocket space using this simple sewing pattern.

This bag has two pants style front pockets that extend over most of the front of the bag. Each pocket reaches almost to the center and extends down to the top of the darts. Inside is another double patch pocket.

This pattern includes step-by-step instructions, clear photos and lots of extra tips to help you make your bag perfect.

Measures: 14" at widest point across the bottom x 8.5" high x 3.5" deep. Two 20" straps so you can carry it comfortably in your hand or hang it off your shoulder.

Closes with a flap and magnetic snap.

Pattern pieces included for the bag body, pockets and for both flap styles shown in the photos. You will need to use a ruler or yardstick to make the strap pieces and patch pocket.

Frogs in the Rain

Frogsintherain

Digging through my fabric stash turned up this little gem of Japanese fabric. At the time it was raining like mad here so the rain drop circles seemed timely.

This print came from Fabric Tales many moons ago and I've never seen it anywhere else.  But if you have please pipe up and leave a comment.

Corduroy Prints

Robert Kaufman Birds Cords

Corduroy is such a fall classic and it seems there are ever more prints becoming available in this favorite fabric.  Here is a new print from Robert Kaufman.  It is available right here

Kitten Silhouettes

Kittensilhoutte

Cute kitten silhouettes on a really nicely textured medium weight cotton.  This fabric came from Reprodepot a year or two ago and I don't think it is available there any longer.  If you know where to find it please post a comment!

Cellphonepouch2

I made myself a cell phone pouch.  This little thing was hard to make!

This bag is very cute and has a turn-lock closure!

Kaffe Fassett Clouds

Kaffe fasset clouds

This print by Kaffe Fassett caught my attention at Cia's Palette.  I'm working on an embroidery project with clouds so the motif has been on my mind lately.  It also helps that the print is so vibrant and full of movement.  The more I look at it the better I like it.

Blossom Field Brown

Blossom Field Brown

This fabric is  absolutely perfect for fall.  My entire neighborhood is filled with these colors as the leaves turn and fall from the trees.  It also has a great vintage vibe--70s perhaps?   It available right here.

Here is a clutch made with this fabric:

Tina Givens Chloe's Imagination

Tina Givens Chloes Imagination

Over the weekend I made my bi-weekly trip to Fabric Depot to buy supplies and picked up this fabric while there. I've been checking it out since the collection came out and have a special project in mind for it as well as one holiday gift I plan to use it for this year.

I'm mulling over whether to fade part of my yardage to a lighter lavender color.  The color is pretty but it might look wonderful muted just a bit.

French Country Scenes

French Country

Mental preparations for my first quilt are well underway and after about 3 more months of thinking I'll probably be ready to start....maybe.  This cute print might be necessary for the quilt.  It is very charming and I'm feeling a bit smitten with it.

Japanese Cotton Canvas

Purple cotton canvas

This fall I'm feeling really into purple. This loose weave cotton is pretty great and I'm putting it on my "want it" list.

Blossom River by Seven Islands

Blossom River

This pretty fabric came from Purl Soho.  It is a very nice cotton lawn--a fabric I love but sometimes feel a little at a loss as to what to make with it.  Cotton lawn makes nice summer clothes, but usually the cost of some of the fabrics means I can only buy a yard at a time so there isn't a enough to make something to wear.  I did make a handkerchief with this print and it is so pretty and really soft.
